Recycle Frog Launches Series of Gold Drive Fundraisers for United Way Ottawa
OTTAWA – November 16, 2009 – Recycle Frog, a next generation, direct-to-consumer precious metals recycling company with operations in Canada and the United States, has teamed up with United Way Ottawa to support fundraising efforts for the current community campaign. United Way will directly benefit from corporate Recycle Frog Gold Drive™ events and a direct mail campaign that will run until the end of the year.
A Gold Drive gives individuals the opportunity to recycle their unworn or broken gold jewellery at record prices while a portion of the proceeds is diverted to United Way. Participant payouts are independently verified with specified audit procedures performed by PricewaterhouseCoopers – an industry first. Recycle Frog will match all proceeds from the drives dollar-for-dollar.
“We’re extremely proud to partner with United Way and help them meet their goal of bringing people and resources together to build a strong, healthy, safe community for all,” said Matthew MacQuarrie, President, Recycle Frog. “The power of a Recycle Frog Gold Drive lies in its ability to generate high value transactions simultaneously benefitting the campaign and its participants. This important strategic alliance with United Way is the first of several similar engagements that are currently in the works for Recycle Frog. While plans include campaigns with several nationally recognized organizations, Recycle Frog has designed its Gold Drive fundraising platform for simplified rollout to any size campaign.”
Recycle Frog is working with several local companies to host on-site Gold Drive events. United Way workplace campaign organizers are encouraged to contact Recycle Frog to coordinate a time to host a fundraiser. For those who are unable to attend a workplace event, or would like to have friends and family participate in their event, they can choose to send their items directly via secure and insured mail using a Recycle Frog Recycle Kit.
“Recycle Frog’s approach to fundraising promises to be one of the most innovative contributions to our community campaign,” said Michael Allen, President and CEO, United Way Ottawa. “We encourage our workplace campaigns to take a closer look at this fresh spin on fundraising. It’s easy to host a Gold Drive, and the effort will go a long way to support our community — not to mention our environment when we clean out cluttered drawers and jewellery boxes.”
Media are invited to attend this event and are encouraged to contact Recycle Frog should they want to arrange an individual interview.
